Independent insurance agents are on the front lines fighting for consumers. It's our job to find policies with the lowest cost and strongest protections.

That's why thousands of independent agents support Proposition 17. Prop. 17 will extend an auto insurance discount to millions of California drivers who are currently forced to pay hundreds of dollars more per year for insurance if they switch companies. It will reward responsible drivers and save them up to $250 per year.

Here's the problem Prop. 17 will fix: Drivers who maintain auto insurance with the same company are eligible for a continuous coverage discount. However, a flaw in the law prohibits drivers from taking this discount with them if they switch insurers. Prop. 17 will allow drivers to keep their continuous coverage discount even if they change insurers.

Drivers who follow the law and maintain coverage are forced to pay hundreds of dollars per year more - through the loss of a discount - just because they switch companies.
