Dead-Child-Compensation
An Peterborough woman wrongly accused of murdering her two-year-old daughter can't believe she's being denied compensation.
Brenda Waudby will not receive up to 25-thousand dollars from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board because it says she does not meet the criteria for suffering nervous shock.
Her claim and one filed by her other daughter, who was placed in foster care after her mother was charged, was also denied.
Waudby and others were wrongly convicted based on sloppy autopsy reports by disgraced pathologist Dr. Charles Smith.
Vehicle Theft
Belleville Police have responded to five different reports of vehicle break-ins over the last two days.
The thefts occured in the west end of the city during a 24 hour period between Tuesday and Wednesday nights.
Booster cables, electronics, ownership and insurance documents, sunglasses, and a ladies purse were stolen.
They're the latest in a series of similar vehicle break-ins over the last few weeks in the city.
